Privacy policy

How The German School, Noida handles your personal data, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Last updated: 19 October 2026.

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, phone number and e-mail when you book a free demo, ask for a call back or verify your e-mail in the chat.
  • Your answers on the demo form: level, reason for learning German, preferred time slot and similar choices.
  • Chat messages you send to our assistant Lumi, and the answers it gave.
  • Student data (only if you have an account): homework and submissions, class attendance, course progress, certificates and messages to the teacher.
  • Game and contest scores, and vouchers you win in games.

Why we use it

Only to run the school: to call you about your demo, plan your batch, teach and grade your work, answer your questions, and improve the website and the chat answers. We never sell your data and we don't send advertising for anyone else.

How long we keep it

  • Chat messages: deleted automatically after 180 days.
  • Demo requests and call-back requests: kept while we are in touch with you, and deleted when you ask us.
  • Student accounts: kept while you study with us; homework and scores are deleted together with the account on request.

Children

Some of our students are under 18. For them we ask a parent or guardian to agree before a demo is booked or an account is made, and parents can see, correct or delete their child's data at any time. We show children no advertising and do no tracking or profiling. On public game leaderboards we show only a first name and initial.

Class recordings

Live classes are recorded so that students of the same batch can rewatch them. Only logged-in students of that batch and our teachers can open a recording, for a limited time (90 days, or 365 days on Premium), after which access ends. Keeping your camera on is optional. If you don't want your voice or video in a recording, tell your teacher and we'll help you join without it.

Your rights - see, correct or delete your data

You can ask Kanchi to show, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent at any time. Contact Kanchi through the demo form or in class - we reply within 7 days.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms, a cookie for your chosen colour theme, and your browser's local storage for small conveniences (intro already seen, Practice Lab progress, the open chat). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Third-party services

  • Google: Google Maps (map and directions), Google reviews, Google Meet for live classes and Google Calendar. Google receives your IP address when these load.
  • Google Fonts: the website's fonts load from fonts.googleapis.com, which receives your IP address.
  • YouTube: embedded videos are loaded from youtube-nocookie.com when you play them.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI): if the AI helper in the chat is switched on, questions the assistant can't answer from its own list (not your name or phone) are sent to Anthropic's AI to write a reply.
  • E-mail: verification codes and replies are sent through our e-mail provider.
